It bears the so-called IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) denomination, a prestigious recognition awarded by the European Community which aims at rewarding the best growing and processing techniques.

It is cultivated and irrigated with the crystal-clear waters which cross the fertile soils of Isola della Scala, a flourishing area situated south of Verona which is famous all over the world for rice growing. This rice is processed according to ancient artisan techniques and is packaged without the employment of preservatives.
